Job Description

We just underwent a major update to our brand and are looking for a candidate with the creativity and hustle to manage our social media, primarily writing and curating content and to ensure that our posts are engaging and impactful. We strive to use social media to promote narratives around solutions and inspire people to take actions for a healthier planet with abundant and diverse wildlife and ecosystems, in addition to raising up the voices of the incredible individuals doing the work in the field. We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual who can work as part of a team to manage our day-to-day social media channels, to amplify our messages and work. This position will also be responsible for sourcing, scheduling and publishing social media content and managing our publishing calendar.  

Responsibilities

  • Write/create, manage, plan and schedule Re:wild’s social media posts across our social platforms daily (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube). This includes working with Re:wild staff, associates, partners and members of the communications team to get the information you need to write and proof posts before they are published, and shift posts around as needed. Our content can change by the hour, so qualified candidates will be responsive go-getters.  

  • Manage publishing calendar of social media content daily, and plan out weekly and monthly calendar, in a dynamic and evolving environment. This includes coordinating content from communications staff, programmatic staff, and partners.

  • Working closely with the communications/content team, produce written copy to accompany photos, video and articles (including news stories, blog posts and content from partners).

  • Develop comprehensive social media packages for partners around big stories or projects.

  • Engage with Re:wild’s partners, reporters we work with, and intersectional environmentalists on social media to reshare, like and comment on their content, or find other creative ways to collaborate and engage.

  • Stay on the pulse of trends across social media platforms to identify opportunities for engagement and growth.

  • Help develop and implement creative content campaigns, including regular features Report on outcomes and metrics to refine strategy

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in social media or communications

  • Understands and keeps up with social media and influencer trends

  • Must be a team player and excited to work in a highly collaborative environment

  • Must be flexible, able to adapt strategy according to evolving situations

  • Must have “hustle.” You’ll be working with a small but mighty team pulled in many directions, so you must be proactive and pleasantly persistent.

  • Nonprofit, sustainability, conservation or purpose-brand experience

  • A passion for saving wildlife and our planet!

Location Washington DC preferred Salary Salary based on experience
